One little tip on corners.

Mike Lynch offsets the corners a little so the side walls are not flush with the end walls.

The side walls are thus inset a little.

FOS Scale kits are always a pleasure to build.

I decided to make their Quinn Elbow into a 2 inch deep fish market.

Any progress to report.  2 1/2 years now.

My much more manageable model.

A very nice collection of structures.  All displayed in a realistic setting.

Pretty much done with this model.

It will be displayed in our living room with the roof off.

A week in the hospital slowed me down.  Pneumonia.

The amount of detailed castings included in this kit surprised me.

Following Sierrawest's Youtube videos to weather the barrels gives this result.

An enjoyable bit of weathering.

I also purchased Sierrawest's HO logging disconnects.

Easy to build.

I've always liked the lines of this kit.

Finally started it.

It goes together easily.  No surprises.

My grandkids dissected owl pellets 25 years ago in school.

They brought the mouse bones home and I realized they would make a nice little scene.

Doing the details does take a lot of time.

But it is worth it.

When I built my first FSM kit in 1975, I was fascinated bu all the details and really enjoyed painting them.

Fast forward 50 years and I now find painting all those details laborious.

I've developed a preference for FOS SCALE kits with quick building structures and few details.

I built this model when Gil Melle first published the drawings.

I was surprised how large the building is.

Joc Oliphant's version was beautiful.

I learned not to use masking tape for tar paper roofing as the tape peeled off years later.

My model was destroyed in a move.
