Fast forward here and say that I did the same with this section as I did with the other one.

I added some new trees and removed others.

I still have more details to add to cracker house area. I'll show that as I get to it.

To protect the new area, I added plexiglass to the fascia.

The top of the plexiglass is only high enough to protect the shrubbery and trees on the layout's edge.

Done for today..

I agree with Jerry. But what are the purplish-red trees?  Have I missed them because most of my visits have been between October and April?

Tom,
Scenery is one of my downfalls, as I haven't done much other than around my dioramas.
With that, thanks for sharing the "how-to" on your specific steps adding scenery grasses.
Your tree placements look amazing in front of the trees on your backdrop and blend in well.
And with the addition of more plexiglass, your layout will last for years. Very smart on your work.

Looking great Tom, I hope nobody is in that outhouse if it gets tipped..... ;D

Jerry,

Thank you, I enjoy doing scenery and the plexiglass was to prevent future damage from careless visitors.

James,

Thank you for stopping by. In Florida we have the Red Maple, Carolina Crape Myrtle and the Purple Smoke trees.

They are here but rarely seems in the mix of all the green. You will find them mostly in the more affluent neighborhoods. We don't have any in my hood.  ;D

Rich,

Thank you for the compliment on my scenery, you are very kind. I enjoy scenery and structures and rarely run trains. I leave that to the Judge.

And, you are welcome for the SBS on the grasses.

Greg,

Well, there is a figure in the outhouse. Hard to see as there is no light inside other than what comes through the half moon and bottom opening. No pun intended about the "bottom opening" but, it is a little punny!  8)

Ron,

Thank you. The scenery sure has changed the look of this area on the layout. I still have details to add to the cracker house area.

I continue to move around to the left on the scenery.  These next several photos will show the before and after with little or no narrative. I've covered most if not all of how I'm doing the scenery from Eaton's Curve back. I believe you can see what I've been up to with our much explanation.
