The next two photos show the most recent damage by visitors.. This is why I've gone the route of protecting my work/layout.

Curt,

No problem, I've needed to do this long prior to your dad coming to visit. I've had young children do the same. I don't want Tim to stop coming over as I think he enjoys the layout and I his company.

It is also to protect the layout from me as I have broken a few trees on the Piney woods side.

Stuff happens, I just want to save extra work and the layout.

James,

On this level, the second, waist high at 38" from the floor.

The third level is 56" from the floor.

I'd have thought your upper deck would keep people's abdomens away from the layout, but comparing your picture with this, my shallow attic probably works better. I'll know more once there's finished scenery on my Downtown Newburyport peninsula (foreground).

James,

Yea, no problem for the upper deck. The second level is the one I need to protect.  8)

If a visitor comes and their belly is at the third level, more than likely they won't fit in the train shed at all.  ;D

Actually, that's a cool idea, along with a car crashed into the hydrant and maybe some police for traffic control.

Philip,

You would think so! The town leaders didn't even have the sense to have the water department turn on the water.  8)

Dave,

I agree and will give this some consideration for a future project.

Philip,

Now, my friend you have gone and done it! I accept the challenge and what a great idea for a water leak. Love it!

Stay tuned.

Jerry,

Thank you sir for the very kind and generous compliment, much appreciated. I've tried to make it appear to be a Florida, south Georgia scenic layout, lots of palms and greenery.

On the other side, I wish you lived closer and could be here for a SBG Meet and our famous BSing.  ;D
