The next day I spray painted the poles with Floquil Weathered Black.

I then drilled 3/32" holes in the outside wall of the roundhouse.

After gluing the poles in place, I started to feed the piping through the utility poles.

For the piping on the top of the pole, I made black marks on the tubing. I then removed the piping and and gently bent it to fit the correct angle. The piping was then replaced on the poles and a drop of ACC was used to glue the pipe in place.

I purchased 3/32" pipe fittings from Rusty Stumps Models. I got straight, 90 degree and 45 degree fittings.

Fast forward and I hand painted the steam pipes and used pastels to add the rust on the pipes.

The large valves are also made by Rusty Stumps.

Good stuff! Walt is talking about re-opening Rusty Stumps on a limited basis. He's 83 now.

Well done!

The yard is really coming together now Tom.  The jog in the steam pipes really adds a lot of character to the scene.

Howdy Tom,  excellent work on the piping.  You've masterfully created another scene.  Have fun, mike

Looks like Uncle Tommie is up to his usual tricks again!  I think another pallet load of Diet Pepsi must have arrived at Tom's Place.

As usual, amazing work Tom.  I didn't even know you could order those pipe fitting parts.  Any idea where you might get those today?

I seem to remember saying so before, on RR-Line, but that's a good looking engine terminal. The A&S management doesn't seem stingy...

Tom your roundhouse and details look just as good as the first time I saw them.
You've done an excellent job as always.

Hello Tom, it's nice to see your layout tour post active again. You are doing your usual great job with your engine service facilities area. The roundhouse area ready tracks with the steam pipes brings back memories of pictures of John Allen's wonderful layout.
