Good Morning from a "winter wonderland",

It's 21 with a high of 26 in New York. Received about 12 inches over night
and it's still coming down; that wet heavy crap. All the area schools are closed
and I'll have to deal with the driveway at least once if not twice today.

The usual morning beverages are ready. Breakfast is biscuits with gravy and hash
browns on the side; a "stick to your ribs" kind of breakfast.

What's happening in your world today?

When I'm not out playing in the white stuff I hope to continue working on the
Tractor floor; so we'll see how things shake out....and the plow just went up through.

Have a great day!! Keep warm, be well, and stay safe.

Good morning from So. Central Wisconsin where it is cold! The actual temperature is -2f degrees and feels like -14. The high will jump into the mid twenties this afternoon.

Thanks for opening Larry

Another day that will see me in and out of the train room. Got 5 more blue point switch machines Wednesday evening but found them yesterday in the snow below the main front porch landing! All testing of to be weathered locomotives is complete. Just the one I posted yesterday needs repairs. I ordered parts but actually the repairs are coming out inventory of Buddy boards, decoders, speakers and LED lights I already have.

No Valentine Day plans as we both feel it's just another Hallmark money grab day. It's Friday and we will do a local fish fry even though tonight might become an old timers senior dinner time at. 5pm due to most reservations around 6:30pm are already taken!

Enjoy the day

Morning all,

Thanks for the biscuits and gravy Larry. I'll have some OJ to go with that.

I did bowl yesterday. I took two extra strength Tylenol and bowled very well. No back pain last night or this morning.

Pam and I celebrated Valentine's Day last week and no cards either.

I'm way behind on my updates for the flatiron so maybe I can get going on that this afternoon. I'll be working on it most of today as well.

Have a safe, warm and happy day everyone.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Larry. Hopefully you will only need one clearing today. If you don't get to it all remember that at some point it will melt.

Started out the day with a walk at 66F and breezy. Yesterday I finished cutting out roof panels and painted and weathered them per the SW directions. They seem dark to me but they are on a coal tipple I guess.

Today after chores I will start attaching the cut panels for the tipple roofing.

TomO hopefully Terry will be able to get her fish today.

Tom I'm glad your back feels better. Maybe the bowling helped stretch the muscles.

Jerry I hope you're feeling better.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning folks,

Larry, thanks for opening, the coffee, biscuits, and gravy. Good luck on the floor.

TomO, this evening's activities sound like fun.

TomACL, congrats on the bowling and most of all no pain.

Curt, good luck with the tipple roofing.

Jerry, glad you are recovering from the COVID bug.

Gregory, what's new?

Ron, I'd leave for Florida now.  The staging yard ties look amazing.

Karl, good luck in all that sneaux.

Philip, I don't like graffiti either.

Rick, how is the hiking?

How is the rest of the gang today?

It's a bright morning at 44F headed to 59F.  Rain tonight.

My bride and I are eating out for Valentines Day.  I ordered flowers hoping they arrive soon.

I decided to prime the roof on the boxcar, so now it is ready for the boxcar red paint.  I go the brake staff all ready to go, too.

Have fun,
mike

Philip

It's not snowing here! Larry, don't overdue it!

Worn out by yesterdays shopping. Gena has a new pedometer and was testing my endurance.

All from my foxhole. Stay warm!

Philip

Rick

Good morning everyone.

Barstow weather: Patchy blowing dust after 9am. Sunny, with a high near 59. Windy, with a west southwest wind 20 to 25 mph increasing to 27 to 32 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 41 mph.
I don't like the wind.  :-\

Larry, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Careful out there in your winter wonderland.

Mike, have fun painting the boxcar.

Curt, I'll be looking for another update.

TomO, enjoy the fish fry.

ACLTom, glad you bowled well and have no back pain.
You asked earlier if I'm heading south again.
I am south now but in CA.
I probably won't be back east for another 2 or 3 years.

Jerry, hope you're feeling much better.

Greg and Terry, good morning.

Karl, beautiful picture and I remember that scene.

Ron, your ties look great.

Philip, how are you?

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Only thing I did yesterday was go to the gym and drive back to the some place to camp.
Was going to do some off roading today but with the rain yesterday not sure how muddy the road is.
So Instead Star and I will walk some of it to see.

An old ranch I saw at Mission Creek Preserve.

And a photo from The Slot I hiked last week.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning Larry, TomO, ACLTom, Curt, Mike, Philip, Rick and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Larry, hope you don't spend all day playing in the white stuff.

TomO, I'll see your -2 and raise it (lower it?) to -5, enjoy your fish fry tonight.

ACLTom, will be looking forward to your Flat Iron updates.

ACLTom, your triple is looking great, will be looking forward to your updates too.

Mike, I wish I could leave for Florida after the dump of white stuff we got the last couple of days. :o  We got about a foot with more coming this weekend.  Enjoy your Valentine dinner with the Mrs.

Philip, have a great day.

Rick, have fun walking around with Star, saw your video about the Mission Creek Preserve, great video.

Currently - 15c (-5f) here in the Great White North.  Have already been out this morning cleaning the cars off and getting them out of the driveway so that the snow removal service can clean the driveway out.  Having all wheel traction sure helps a lot.  8)

Seeing as I'm working from home I was able to add the first coat of stain on the ties during lunch and then sand and re-stain them after dinner.  Rail laying can start next.

Have a great day everyone.

Hey Larry!

Thank you taking all the snow destined for Rochester last night, and having it dumped in your neighborhood instead. I'm sure the kids in your area are having fun with snowball fights and sledding.

Let me know if we can ever return the favor.

I'd rather have the Eagle Rare than those Pappy's.

Rick

Good morning everyone.

Barstow weather: Sunny, with a high near 63.

I'm sure someone else is here now or show up while I'm typing too much and get breakfast going.
But choices are good.  ;D

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Breakfast burritos with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese and chorizo are todays breakfast.

Dave, good morning.

Jerry, glad you're feeling better and hope you did some bench time.
Glad Diane didn't get it so bad.

Ron, glad you enjoyed the video and has rail laying started?

Philip, all that walking is good for you.  :)

Mike, is the boxcar red?

Curt, you're making very good progress on the tipple.

ACLTom, have fun spending that gift card.

TomO, how was the fish fry?

Larry, hope more white stuff hasn't showed up.

Karl, that picture with the deer is beautiful.

Greg, Terry and everyone else looking in I hope you are all well.

Star and I walked about 1 1/2 on the OHV trail and it looked to be in good shape.
Wind has died down too.
Today we'll go off roading and there's supposed to be volcano cinder cones and abandoned mines to see.

A view from my hike on the Pacific Crest Trail last weekend.

Have great day everyone.

Good morning folks,

Rick, thanks for opening, the coffee and breakfast. Hope you enjoy the exploring today.

It's an overcast morning at 42F but warming to 64F.  Rain should be ending soon.

How is the gang today?

Have fun,
mike

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Pretty landscape. Have fun off roading today.

Starting out under a gray sky this morning but it's still shorts weather. Yesterday I finished the tipple roof but I'm ambivalent about the coloring. It's darker than the SW website although I did it per instructions. The only thing That I can think of was that my dark gray rattle can base is darker than Brett's. I may go over it again with some weathering powder.

It looks like I have 2 more construction steps until the tipple is done. After the basic build is done I need to go over it to see if I want to add anything like NBW'S.

Other than chores nothing much else is planned for the weekend.

I hope everyone has a good day.
