Good morning ACLTom, TomO, Larry and the rest of the crew that drops in later,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Tom, will be looking forward to your update.

TomO, sounds like your hockey teams had a great day. Have fun in the train room.

Larry, enjoy your day relaxing.

Current weather here is -5c (23f) and overcast.  That's a warm day here 8) .  Today's plan is to finish packing and load the car.  Only thing left to pack is some more train stuff and my clothes.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone.

It's 40 now and 70 later here north of Lake Isabella.

ACLTom, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Good news on the Flat Iron progress.

TomO, yes, that Founders and I stopped there to have lunch and a flight of stouts.
Also, it's called Breakfast Stout and comes in a four pack.
Did you try a stout yesterday?

Larry, good news on fixing the leak.

Jerry, what is it you're working on?

Dave, I tried to acquire a taste for scotch but couldn't do it and found I preferred bourbons.

Ron, hope the packing goes well.

Philip, any warmer outside today?

Karl, very nice photo of your herd.
Make good progress on the layout yesterday?

Greg, more relaxing today?

Mike, any news from upstairs?

I hope everyone else looking in is doing well today.

Curt, dad coming home today?

Star and I hiked 3 miles and climbed 700' on the Isabella Peak Trail yesterday.
I think we might do another hike today.

A short video from yesterday on the trail: https://youtube.com/shorts/JU-WfMwm8DE

And a photo from the Kern River Trail.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Tom. I look forward to seeing your progress photos.

It's actually supposed to get to 75F today. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain in the morning.

Well Dad is still a prisoner in the hospital. We were told yesterday around 11 am that they had to find a company to provide the IV antibiotics for home. Fat chance on the weekend. Of course the case manager on Friday never mentioned this. Needless to say we both are pretty frustrated at this point. I can almost guarantee he will not get released until Monday. >:(

Nothing else happening with me.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning folks,

TomACL, thanks for opening, the coffee, and breakfast. Hope you get things ironed out on the bench...

TomO, congrats on the hockey wins.  Enjoy the bench.

Larry, glad you found the window leak.  Wishing you a relaxing and back-healing day.

Ron, glad the weather is warming a bit.  Good luck packing.

Rick, hope you have another great hike.  Your videos are nice.

How is the rest of the gang today?

It's a chilly morning at 25F, but it's warming to 56F later.  Warmer weather is headed our way.

Today is MOH's birthday.  We are celebrating with brunch and the Jersey Boys at a local theater.

Yesterday I glued the roof on the boxcar, finally.  It should be dry today.  Also added more wall studs to the shed.  One of the beauties of the Interaction Hobbies kits is their prototypical wall and part thickness.  The downside is warping from the moisture in the paint.  Yesterday I had three walls and three doors being pressed back flat.

Have fun,
mike

Jerry

Morning everyone

Tom thanks for the coffee & bagel.
Looking forward to the update.

TomO sounds like the grandson had a great game.

Larry glad you have the leak under control now sit back and relax.

Ron don't forget the clothes!!  ;D

Nice video Rick.
Beautiful country.

Curt sorry to hear about your Dad being held prisoner! :(

Weather in South Jersey is sunny/38.  Heading to 47.
"Weenies" got it right for a change!

Rick asked what are you working on.
Well many moons a go I started a pier diorama well I dug it back out to see if I could fix it.
So after fixing the pilings and making some new ones.
I can put the decking on it I think.
Maybe this week if things go well I'll start a thread on it once again!!
Oh and there is a story behind why I started this over again.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Jerry

Good morning Larry and the Tom's, et al.  All this hard liquor talk is beyond my pay grade.  I'm a pure dunce on booze. :-\  Had some decent NA/IPA by Sam Adams at a Christmas/birthday thing with the Doll's brother and sis in law.  Bought myself 6 afterward, still have 5 in the fridge.

Roads got a bit tricky yesterday, as is posting multiple pics..btw

High winds caused considerable drifting as well as restless animal activity

Geek squad coming today, so the Doll is in cleaning frenzy...

Little to add here.  Be well all.

Philip

Good Morning,

This month is certainly flying by. Have a great Sunday!

Philip

Rick

I'm back again because I forgot to answer a couple of questions.

TomO, asked if I was thinking about settling down.
Absolutely not.
As long as I'm healthy and physically able to keep doing this van life thing I will continue to travel.
So many more things to see and do.

Ron, asked what's wrong with California.
First it's prohibitively expensive to live there.
Average home price is $904,210.
Condos are 400,000 +
Fuel is 1 - 2 dollars more a gallon.
The state in my opinion is run by wackos.
Look how badly the recent fires were handled.

Karl, great pictures.

Jerry, I'll look for an update and story.

Mike, happy birthday to Sharon.

Curt, sorry about dad's predicament.

Philip, howdy.

You bet Rick, another relaxing day, after another half hour of business paperwork....y'all have a good one too!

Rick, the Oatmeal Stout maybe tonight. The SIL did not bring it to the hockey game.

The grandson's team got hammered today. 0-6. They just were never in it. It happens!

Heading to the train room in about 30 minutes.

Terry is grumbling about her cataract surgery that she may have screwed up on. She'll call the clinic tomorrow to work on whatever the issue is. I'm letting it go in one ear and out the other! Ignoring it today as it will work out...

Morning all,

Breakfast this morning is ready. I have pumpkin pancakes and vanilla flavored waffles. Your choice of syrup as long as you want maple. Drinks on the end along with Diet Pepsi and Diet Dr. Pepper.

I added an update to the flat iron build and will do add more this afternoon.

Curt, how is dad doing, coming home today?

It's raining here with a wet drizzle making it a little cool.

Have a safe, healthy and warm day everyone.

Good morning everyone.

Lake Isabella weather: Sunny, with a high near 73.

ACLTom, thanks for the breakfast and coffee.
Hope the leg is healing well.

Philip, get the shorts and suntan lotion out.  ;)

TomO, hope Terry gets the cataract surgery straitened out.

Greg, a little work today?

Karl, is the herd still hanging at your place?

Jerry, any good news from Joisy?

Mike, hope the walls are flat again.

Curt, can dad come home today?

Larry, nice update on your project.

Ron, safe travels.

Hope everyone else is doing well today.

Did a short hike yesterday with Star.
It followed along the Kern River.
A view from the trail.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Tom. I think I'll pass on the pumpkin pancakes, I'm not even a fan of pumpkin pie. :o Have fun on the build today.

As Tom mentioned it's cool and drizzly in Central FL and supposed to continue through the day.

Dad finally came home last night around 5 pm. He's doing well. I have several phone calls to make today and we have 3 separate people coming to the house today for Dad so I don't think I'll get to the train room today. The final determination was he had pneumonia in his right lower lobe and a bacterial infection of the blood. He's now on low flow O2 (not sure if that's permanent), a new nebulizer treatment, and 14 days of IV antibiotics administered by a home health nurse.

TomO I hope everything works out with Terry.

Rick that is a pretty area.

And that's the way it is on February 24th 2025.

I hope everyone has a good day.

It's in the neighborhood of 320 this morning with grey skies.  It may go toward the 400 range today.  :o

I just looked out and there are again half a dozen deer resting under the pine trees in the back.

We had a nice visit from the Geek crew yesterday, I managed to do little so there's not much to report this morning. :-X

Liking the river shot, Rick. Nice and sunny. 8)

I have a tiny little building I'm fiddling with.  I will work on that and then the layout today.

Be well all, stay warm.
Karl
