Good morning folks,

Tom, thanks for the terrific breakfast and coffee.  Wishing you a fun day with Pam.

Dale, good luck with those weeds, a tricky task removing them.

Curt, good luck with the truss braces.

Karl, congrats on the night's sleep.  Wishing the smoke back from whence it came.

Rick, thanks for the amazing photos.  Glad you found a 5-star spot.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a hazy morning, but it's clearing later. The forecast is for 81°F.  The water tower is in the last steps of construction.  I need to pack up old HO kits to take to the Texas Western this week.  Memories.

Have fun,
mike

Mitchell, OR weather: Increasing clouds, with a high near 74.

ACLTom, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Roses are looking good and enjoy your day with Pam.

Karl, good news on the sleeping and interesting news on the BS.

Curt, sounds like good progress at the bench.

Dale, enjoy the yard work.

Jerry, good news from the bench.

TomO, good news on your brother's surgery.

Ron, I'm sure you'll miss the weather but I'm sure you're happy to be going home.

Larry, Dave, Mike, Philip, Greg and everyone else looking in, hope you are all well.

Star and I did the 4 miles and 800' of EG to get to the base of Steins Pillar.
Headed further east and found a 5 star camping spot.
360 degree views, quiet and a fire ring with lots of split wood left behind by a nice person.
I'll stay here through the weekend.
Got some house cleaning to do and later a fire will be made and a cigar with my afternoon coffee will be enjoyed.

Another picture of my hike at Smith Rock SP showing how steep this hike was.

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Tom.

going to keep it short today, it's currently 75F and cloudy, but it's clearing up.  Managed a bit of bench time last night.  got the itty bitty soda counted stools painted and started working on weathering the sidewalk.  Plan is more bench time tonight.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning,

Tom thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Pretty roses and enjoy your day with Pam.

Dale that's a lot of acreage to keep up with; must give your mowers a good workout.

Curt I don't know how you guys deal with hurricanes; I'll put up with the snow and cold instead.
Have fun at the bench.

Karl feed them cats and make them happy. Whether people like to make things sound worse than they really are; I guess that's their way though.

Rick that is one steep climb for sure. Enjoy the fire, coffee, and cigar later.

Tom O sounds like you have your hands full atm.

Greg I've heard thunder go off right over the house that pretty much made me jump out of my skin; scary stuff.

Philip we used to have a lot of house trailers around years ago but most of the parks have closed with the inhabitants going elsewhere.

Jerry enjoy the family time.

Mike have fun packing up the HO stuff.

Dave sounds like a 60's TV show.

It's 55 and rain with a high of 56 in New York. Good day to goof off around the house and take life easy.
Not much else here.

Have a great day!! Be well.

Good Morning All,

Today's breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, muffins, OJ and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 70F and low humidity. Yesterday the sun wasn't out much so it kept the humidity down.

Yesterday I finished the hoist house roof. It looks like all that's left to do per instructions are to attach the cable between the h.h. and headframe and build the side roof. I have a couple of other things I plan on doing.

After chores I'll continue on the kit unless SIL comes out to work on the pool pump. The new impeller came in yesterday.

Rick that looks like a very steep climb. I wouldn't do it without handrails.

TomO you're a good man for taking care of your brother.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning Crew!

So it's a little over 6 months in this new forum and we haven't been evicted yet! Things are looking good! ;D

Nothing on the agenda today except modeling.

Have a great Sunday!

Good morning all, black coffee and a bowl of raisin Bran works for me.
June is here incredibly enough, time just keeps ticking by faster and faster.
This will be a good month I feel. A little later this month I am going to Oregon and visit my youngest son amd his wife and my 2 grand babies in Lincoln City. I love the pacific northwest. I was born in Spokane and raised in North Idaho but have lived all over the pacific northwest and Alaska. Rick, your pictures that you post I have been to most of those locations. I only came to Northern Colorado about 16 yrs ago. Work is what brought me but I miss 'home' all the time.

Weather here in Northern Colorado is going to be summer like today with highs approaching the upper 80s. 55 here now so a very nice start.

Sun 8) day greetings from the lower quadrant of the state of MI where it is cold, 400 this morning after a drop dow in the 30s over night.

Went to an ops at Keeney's yesterday and ran a couple of local switching runs.  I enjoy them the best.

Had a total and complete failure of a brand new out of the box Hav-A-Heart brand live trap last evening as a racoon made a total mockery of the thing, really enjoyed to baits I had placed, bird seed, orange halves with peanut butter and grape jelly >:( IMG_0888.jpeg
IMG_0889.jpegThis trap is a replacement they sent me after the new one I bought last summer broke where they used a cheap-a$$ed plastic piece to anchor a cable that lifts the trap door. That brand used to be the cream of the crop for live traps.  Photos to follow when I change "magic boxes" to my ipad  Later as I was closing up shop for bed time I looked out and there was an Opossum working in and out of the trap cleaning up dat coon's left overs. ::) IMG_0890.jpegTonight will see different plans.  Those traps are quite a bit more $$ than the store brand units from TSC.

It seems the weather folks were not totally off the sun got real hazy by later afternoon and the crescent moon was almost brown after dark.  During the wildlife show.

Friends around the corner reported watching a doe birthing a pair of twins behind their house yesterday.  Better show than the one here. :D

Enuf for today.

Good morning everyone.

Mitchell weather: Sunny, with a high near 74.

Curt, thanks for the breakfast.
I wouldn't need handrails on the way up but they'd be helpful on the way down.

Dale, I can understand why you'd miss this area, but Colorado is also amazingly beautiful.

Philip, is the concreting done?

Jerry, thanks for the coffee and glad you had a great time yesterday.
Did you say something about pictures?

ACLTom, I'm sure you had a great day with Pam.

Larry, TomO, Ron, Mike, Greg, Karl and everyone else looking in, what's new.

Ended up being much too windy to enjoy a cigar or build a fire yesterday.
I'm hoping today will be better but wind is in in the forecast again today.
Got my indoor chores done yesterday and today Star and I will do some walking around here.

Shot a short video of my campsite views yesterday: https://youtube.com/shorts/X_FImr15WxE

Have a great day everyone.

Rick

Karl, good morning and glad you enjoyed the ops.
Better luck trapping tonight.

TomO/Tloc

Good morning from very hot but cooling down Las Vegas. It will "only" reach 100f degrees today, down 8 degrees from yesterday.

Terry arrived at noonish per schedule yesterday. I went over the therapy plans for the brother with his girlfriend. Basically she needs him to follow the plan and hook his safety harness up when he walks in the pool.

Dinner was home last night on one of the best outdoor kitchens I have ever seen and used. I thought mine in the last house was great, this blows that away. But to grill is to grill and that can be done on any type of fire. I did steaks and corn on the cob buttered and in aluminum foil. The brother did a "jerk" spiced too much grilled shrimp. But he remembered Terry won't eat it so he did some unseasoned. Everything was good.

Today Terry and I will explore the south area from Las Vegas. We are thinking south to Primm and over east to Needles and north to Boulder City where we have been before. The brothers house is in the Southern Highlands community on the south edge of Vegas so we have a good start going south.

Enjoy your day
TomO

Late morning all,

Pam and I had a great day yesterday. We went to all the places she wanted to visit and she called it quits at 4 PM. We had a late lunch and came home.

I spent the rest of my day doing nothing at all. Oh, I did finish a western I started on Thursday.

Today I'm in the train shed just cleaning off my workbench and getting ready for another build.

Hope are are having a great day.

Good evening everyone.

Usual adult beverages are on the counter so help yourself.  I'm going to have 2 fingers of 18yr old Glenlivet this evening. Come join me if you drop in.

Was checking in this morning when the power went out  :o , so I went to the beach instead.  ;D  After I got back from the beach I watched the F1 race and then made supper.  Not sure if any modeling will get done tonight.

Have a great evening everyone.
