Good morning everyone.

Forks weather: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 70.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
An assortment of bagels and smears are todays breakfast.
I toasted and buttered an everything bagel.

James, brownies are one of my favorites.

Vagel, thanks for stopping in.

Jerry, I didn't buy any fish.

I hope the rest of the crew slept well and is feeling tip top.

I'm about 20 miles from Forks.
I'll head there a little later and then find a spot to spend the night.

On the hike where I saw the bear, I also saw goats.

dave

Dave, good morning and have fun at the convention.
Take lots of pictures.
I'm surprised there weren't any pictures posted here from the Narrow Gauge Convention.
the NNGC layout tour was really great...there weren't as many overall layouts as some past conventions, but there were some truly spectacular ones...I'll get around to posting some pics. I generally just snap shots of "ideas" I want to steal (I meant "that I'm inspired by"  ;D) because, in the past I've traveled with John S. and Jaime who, generally, take and post an entire layout overview - so I just selfishly look for my own things. Anyway, I've got some good shots I can share...there were a handful of layouts that have been profiled in various magazines like Gary Hoover's, Richard Rand's, Pete Smith's, Bob Lenz' and others. Really great modeling.

cuse

Rick,

Be careful in Forks...I was there about 15 or so years ago - at the height of the "vampire problem". My daughter, now 30,

firmly on the side of the werewolves. It was my first trip to the Pacific Northwest and I just loved the gnarly Pacific Coast scenery...(looked like a layout)

Rick

John,

I look forward to seeing your photos.
Maybe I should stop at the grocery and buy a few cloves of garlic to hang around my neck.  ;D  8)

Sun 8)  and warm to be the menu for today's weather banquet.

Working on an exhaust vent system for the 3D printer. Carbon filter and fan ducted to the window frame.  Amazon was on the porch when I got up, ordered around 8 last night.  :o

Wondered what "Smears" is/are Rick?  btw the B/W photo was a (pleasant) shock to the system.  Very Tri-X like.  I could almost smell the stop bath and fixer in the darkroom.  The bagel looks good.  Seedy place, eh? ;)

Be safe everyone in your endeavors today.

It looks like Geezers Vol II is short timing it....

Good Late Morning,

Rick thanks for the bagel and coffee. Great photo; it reminded me of our trip to Seattle back in '05, and no not 1905 I'm not that old, anyway we ate at a Bistro called The Stumbling Goat; great food.

John looking forward to your photos of the convention.

Karl nice turn-around time on the Amazon order; hope you get the printer up and running soon.

Jerry enjoy your visit with your buddy. Any BS'ing involved?

It's another sunny 63 with a high of 76 in New York. Hopefully my Contractor will be finishing up today and taking his trailer and stuff with him so I can have my yard back. Not too sure about the rest of the day.

Have a great day!! Be well.

Good morning Rick, Cuse, Karl, Jerry, Larry and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, hopefully you will be able to avoid any werewolves/vampire dust-ups. ;D

Cuse, thanks for stopping in and I'm looking forward to the NNGC pictures.

Karl, hope the exhaust system for the 3d printer goes well.

Jerry, enjoy the visit with your buddy.

Larry, you must be happy that all the work is finally done.

Well it looks like my post from yesterday morning didn't make it, I'm assuming it is lost in the either. :o
Currently 14c (f) and sunny, so it's shaping up to be a great day.  Weekend is here for me although I did answer a couple of work e-mails already and also made a Costco run.  Need to drive the Mrs to a doctor appointment this afternoon and then I have a work teams meeting at 4:00PM.  After that the rest of the day is mine.  ;D

Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon from a glorious day in Wisconsin. 78 now heading to 85 later. The humidity is at 41%.

Spent sometime at the bench, the layout and the paint booth this morning. I'm working on a rather large paper mill complex for a friend. 24" to 30" wide x 32' long. I'm using scrap pieces of 1/2' ply wood for the backing support of the styrene cladding. The sidings in the whole mill are going to run the gammit of styles. Foundations of concrete that may go 2-4', large gap metal siding and brick. A couple of the out buildings from the facade will be asphalt sided. But lots of brick for the machine buildings so I'm getting the supporting structure built. I'm working in 48" long segments so I can easily move them around my small shop and transport them. Our daughter was going to 3d print 300 windows for this complex. The friend asked her to double that. She said no problem while we were traveling and she refused payment as she wasn't going to charge me. He gave her a gift certificate from a resin supply place and a paid weekend at the Great Wolf Lodge in the Wisconsin Dells. Told her just take his thank you, he's one of the Great Wolf original investors! He's going to use the addition windows around his layout in other scratch build buildings. I started painting the windows this morning.

The brother will be here this afternoon. He and 5 friends are staying in downtown Madison until Tuesday morning. Golf is the plan for the next 3 days and I'm going to try it along with a friend.

Terry, my sister and the brother's girlfriend are at my sister's place in Pasadena. They flew into Burbank from Maui at about 10am this morning. Terry is not sure when she will head home to Wisconsin. She has to be home the 18th as that's our anniversary.

Rick, Pikes Market was fun but overwhelming crowded when we were there. We were there around 2pm and they were throwing the fish then! You didn't miss anything though. They throw the same fish all day long and at the end of the day it's donated to the Seattle zoo for the polar bears to consume per our tour guide! I have a video but no clue how to post it.

Enjoy the day

Good afternoon folks,

Rick, thanks for opening. Neat wildlife photo.

John, thanks for the NNGC report.

Karl, good luck with the 3D venting system.

Jerry, it's fantastic that you have a friend from the service still visiting.

Larry, hope the contractor's work went well.

Ron, hope your afternoon was spent having some fun.

TomACL, looking forward to your scenery update.

TomO, good to see you modeling activities aren't slowing down.  Good luck on the golf course.

How is the rest of the crew?

Today was frustrating on the hobby and 1:1 sides.  This morning, I discovered that many of the latest 3D prints didn't scale correctly.  So I started over.  This afternoon was wasted trying to fix the sprinkler system controller.  After wasting three hours, I finally got through to a live technician who fixed the problem in less than two minutes.  The Wi-Fi module was still set to an old one that stopped working last month.

Daughter is bringing sourdough over tonight to make pizzas and watch baseball.

Have fun,
mike

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Dad's VA appointment was on time yesterday (another issue in the foot clinic) and afterwards I met up with Tom for a couple of minutes and picked up another pack of marker lights for the cabin car project. By the time I made it home I was dragging from poor sleep and early start. I didn't nap because I knew it would affect last nights sleep which was good.

Today after the daily chores I have decided that it will be a train room day. ;D

I hope everyone has a good day.

Another great early fall day in NH.  I stopped by Friday night Scotch Club last night for a couple minutes, but the dogs were with me, and I think they didn't like the cigars.  (I'm not a big fan, either.)  Today it's an afternoon concert in Boston (instead of the NER convention).  Tomorrow, back to the normal retirement grind...

Good morning from a very wet Wisconsin. The guessers said it would rain overnight, they unbelievably were correct! I heard the rain but the lightning and thunder show at 4:15 was WOW!

3-3 hockey today for the grandson and no soccer today.

Golf for me at 1 and dinner after with the brother and his friends. We can play University Ridge today but not Sunday or Monday. The Badger Women Golf are hosting a tourney! My friend got us tee times at the new TPC Wisconsin for Sunday and Monday we will drive over to Irwin Hills outside of Milwaukee and play there. Both Men's and Women's US Opens have been played there in the last 5 years. I spent almost 3 hours setting this up yesterday, boy I don't miss that crap...

High today again will be 80+.

Enjoy the day
