I sent my neighbor a picture of the Walthers tanks and asked "Are these suitable for a 1960s paper mill?", here's what he said:

Absolutely.  Usually come in pairs for maintenance purposes.  Take one down so a spare exists, or for two different types of pulp.  Probably held at 5-8% consistently.  Built onsite of reinforced concrete.

And he sent me this link to the company that likely built the Walthers kit prototype:  https://www.stebbinseng.com/services/specialty-construction-general/

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Slept so-so last night. I seemed to wakeup about every 2 hours. Today is laundry and working on the pool. Fun times.

Tomorrow MOH drives back and should be here early afternoon. Her BFF is coming on Friday.

Rick you had to feel kind of sheepish after that video. :o

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning Gents,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Try to beat the heat with the outside chores.
Safe travels to your wife.

What's on your list for the day.

It's a sunny 82 with a high of 97 in New York....yikes. Grocery shopping, hopefully, this morning then sitting by the A/C the rest of the day. The storm Sunday night was worse than I thought. About 60,000 folks lost power in 6 counties and some are still without. Sadly 3 people lost their lives, two of which were twin girls. Looked down in my back yard yesterday and saw nothing but leaves on the ground. Upon further investigation a huge maple tree snapped off from the wind and is covering half of the width of my back yard. That's going to sit there probably until Sunday when the heat breaks, then I'm hoping I can cut it up with the chainsaw.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay safe.

Good morning everyone, just coffee this morning, thanks.

It has been a couple of weeks since I posted. Summetime obligations have consumed a lot of my time. But I am on vacation for a couple of weeks so hopefully slow down a notch. I'll be flying out to Oregon to see my youngest son, daughter in law and 2 grand daughters. Unfortunately it will be a solo trip as my wife needs to stay behind to take care of the horses. We have 9 horses in our care right now. It is hard to find a house sitter willing to do the work required for 9 horses. 2 or 3 is one thing but 9 is a lot.

Weather this morning in Northern Colorado...partly cloudy and 55 now going for a nice cool high around 70. That will be a nice change as Saturday we broke 100 and yesterday was about 95.

I'll be packing up today for my trip as I have to leave my house at 2:30-3:00 am to get down to Denver for a 6am flight

Good Morning, thanks for the coffee Curt!

Tom sorry for your family loss.

Oh hell Larry! Call Uncle Sam!  ;D

Dale your project SW is looking great!

I did about three hours of decoder installation yesterday. Not certain but it was more fiddle than fun. Decoder/speaker/keep alive in the tender. Now the fun part Pos/Neg track. Pos/neg motor wire and the led & resistor.  think I'm going to backpedal and place the resistor in the tender. Not a lot of real estate in the 2-6-0 Mogul.

Have a great Monday. Looks like more of the same hot weather.

Blazing Hot WARNING

Well into 80s headed to mid 90s with 1000 plus index.

Self imposed indoor day here may return to the layout project, was chilly in the basement last evening as I worked on the layout

This is a part of the ~16' extension I've been fussing with since the winter. Might winter again by the end time.

Doc called, back x-ray taken last week has sign of degenerative disc issues and referring me to pain clinic...sometime.  :-\  The back has been a struggle lately.

Still. Going to Northern Command sometime soon.  :D

Have a fine day everyone enjoy the sun  8)

Good morning Curt, Larry, Dale, Philip, Karl and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt.  Indoor chores might be a good thing today.

Larry, Enjoy the AC.

Dale, safe travels.

Philip, Hope the rest of the decoder install goes well.

Karl, Hope you will find a solution to the back issue.  Great looking trackwork.

Currently 83 here in Southeastern Ontario, it's going to be a hot day.  Didn't do much yesterday and seeing as this is the first day back at the office and I'm getting my hair cut at 6PM this evening so it will be late before I get home.

Have a great day everyone.

Excellent. I will forward this to the layout owner. This response solves a headache and Dave I really appreciate your help.

Good morning from my part of Wisconsin. This morning at 6 the WeatherChannel app said we were heading to 96f degrees now it says just 90. It's hot now at 85 with the humidity at 84% but the saving grace on the front porch is the winds are blowing at 15mph.

Hid from the sun yesterday and that is the plan again for today. Yesterday I took more pictures for inventory purposes and possibly car cards in the future. Inventory is now complete both for my needs and the insurance companies wants. 105 cars and 6 diesels with 3 more at the painter. Today I will do a layout survey of businesses and switching spots. I'm about 45/55 split about taking down the layout and starting over. I have enough helpers to do it but if I could believe we won't be moving within the next 5 years I'd have done it. This just does not feel like our final Wisconsin house to me.

Enjoy your day
