Nah. She was just being uncooperative trying to get her to look towards the camera.
But, after we finished hiking down the mountain we were both a bit tired.

Jerry

Morning everyone

Curt thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Busy week for you.

Larry your right we are going back into the 90's here Jersey to.

Great picture Rick.
I guess with the long sleeves it's cool up there?

Have to get going.
Diane's niece is leaving so we are going to take her back to the airport in a little while.
The traffic shouldn't be bad today.

Everyone have a wonderful day!!  :)

Morning all,

Been on the phone most of this morning. My Cousin, Rusty, same age as me, passed yesterday after a brief struggle with Liver Cancer.

We'll be driving down to Port St. Lucie on Thursday.

Have a safe and healthy day everyone.

Good morning Curt, Larry, Rick, Jerry, Philip, ACLTom and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt.

Tom, so sorry to hear about your cousin, my condolences to you and your family.

Currently 22c (72F) and sunny, supposed to hit 39C (102f) with the humidex later today.  Managed a bit of bench time last night as I started laying and spiking down some turnouts.  Hopefully tonight I'll get back to the bench and start laying track.

Have a great day everyone.

Tom, my condolences to you and your family.

Jerry mentioned my long sleeve shirt in the picture I posted this morning.
It is not chilly here.
That shirt is a very lightweight synthetic summer hiking shirt.
I read in the trail reviews that there were lots of mosquitoes at the lake.
I wore that shirt to keep them from biting me and not to have to put chemicals on me to repel those pests.
It also keeps the sun off my arms so I don't have to put on sunscreen.

Good morning Crew. Just another diet Pepper for me please! What I thought this morning was heavy cloud cover is actually the extra heavy Canadian haze. With the winds now in low double digits it's blowing away to the north east pushing toward Karl in the UP! We will be in the high 80's today.

The movie was a kids/family movie. LILO and STITCH. Surprising to me, very good. It was funny, heart tugging and corny. Plus it wasn't the cartoon I thought it was going to be. Superman is next and sometime this week. We may take the grandson depending on his very busy Summer calendar!

We are going to finalize the plans this week but both Terry and I are officially coming out of full retirement. She's tired of looking at the stock market and reading books. I'm tired of being bored. While we may regret this it's something different for us but also something we are real familiar with. Instead of property management we are going to build a few spec homes. We've been building our own homes for the past 11+ years and rental properties since 1990. We lived in the houses a year or so and sold them. Rentals we kept but at year six they were always put up for sale. We've done spec homes before up north but it was scary but we are more established now and can handle the ups and downs. Single family homes in the "mid range" of Madison area pricing are a need. We have the funding, the plans, the land and a contractor eager to join us, so, why not...

Enjoy the day
TomO

Afternoon,

Jerry wished I could "bottle up" some of this heat for February. Safe travels to the airport.

Tom sorry to hear about your cousin; my heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

Tom O hopefully at some point they'll get those fires under control way up North. Good luck on your new venture and hope you do well.

Karl nice looking desert. Strawberries around here have been great this year. Sorry to hear the smoke is lurking around your area.

Philip seems like the whole year is flying by; it's mid July already.

Ron take life easy in that kind of heat.

Rick nice photo. That hike sounded too much like work. Enjoy a day of rest; Star as well.

Well I "done...did...do...it! I preordered the O scale Backwoods Tie Mill from Sierra West this morning; couldn't resist. I figure it'll probably be 30-60 days at least before the kit actually ships so I can save up my pennies. I plan on this being a fall winter project when there's not much else to do.

Have a great rest of your day!!

I see Brett is getting smart with a kit deposit. It's astonishing how many people say they want one and renege.

Should be a dandy!

Jerry

TomO good luck in your new adventure.

ACLTom sorry to hear of your loss.

Larry looking forward to that build it will keep you busy most of the winter I'm sure.

Good Afternoon Folks;

Tom sorry, you are certainly going through a patch.  Loved looking at all the photos, for myself I was able to make progress on the engine house building and get a little house work done. Storms are building as usual for Florida this time of year but look to be mostly to south today.

Not much else going on so till tomorrow have a great day.
