My neighbor found his kid's passport.  It was put in the mailbox of a neighbor who was away on vacation.  Still, a big ding on the carrier who made that mistake!

Afternoon all,

I'm worn out from edging and cutting the grass. The heat was brutal and the humidity was even worse. 93 and feels like 102.

I'm spending the rest of the day reviewing what chapters I've written. I need to get back to where I need to be in the book writing. I spent most of yesterday getting all my notes in the proper order.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful and stress free day.

The Judge is coming over to run trains.

Not much else is going on here.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Tom. Enjoy running trains today. Unfortunately, my time is already accounted for by the boss today.

Just got done feeding the beasties. Yesterday after animal chores I ended up outside doing things for about an hour. I was soaked in sweat again and felt exhausted. After lunch I laid down for a nap since I couldn't keep my eyes open. Daughter's plane was 90 minutes late of course.

Today MOH and I need to be in Apopka (40 min drive) midday to meet up with 2 people about skunks then later today TBD we're meeting up with the owner of the 4 vacationing skunks and returning them. At least this will be close to home.

I'm sure MOH will find other things for me to do also.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

Boise weather: Sunny and hot, with a high near 94.

ACLTom, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Have fun with The Judge and with anyone else that shows up.

Curt, safe travels today and I'm sure you're glad to be giving back the visiting skunks.

Greg, hope you get your quiet weekend.

TomO, hope the passport shows up in time and the engine will be put aside for you.

Bernd, thanks for stopping in to say hello.

Karl, nice colors on your siding.
Those A-10's are wicked machines.

Jerry, AC all fixed?

Ron, have fun this weekend with the modules.

Philip, try to stay cool.

Larry, any news from the bench?

Mike, your scrap car is looking good.

Star and I hiked to Box Lake yesterday.
9.15 miles and 2,441' of EG.
A good workout for sure.
Heading back to Boise today to do a little restocking before heading to the next area I want to visit.
I'm already dreading the hot temps in Boise.

Good Morning,

Tom thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Have fun running trains.

Curt sounds like the skunks are more of a part time job than anything else. Take it
easy in the heat.

Rick beautiful photo as always. The bench is coming along but not enough to post. Safe travels.

Philip don't blame you on waiting to mow; it'll still be there. Enjoy the A/C.

Jerry enjoy time with family.

What's gong on today.

It's a sunny 72 with a high of 89 in New York; but at least the humidity is down. Thursday we're having a major cool down; can't wait. Not much going on here today maybe a little bench time. I seem to have the lack of ambition today.

Have an enjoyable day!!! Be well, watch the heat, and stay safe.

Bright and smoky again this morning 670 headed to 750 with chance of some rain.

Had a good walk yesterday down the road here to the Snyder Creek fed by Dead Horse Creek, so the sign says. It's rather dark flowing water, lots of decaying trees and foliage contributing tannins to the water. It looks like tea.

Kere you can see the dark color of another small tributary of similar water as it enters into the big lake from inland, this is just North of my place 2025 07 20_Hidden Shores Test Flight-Vinces Creek-sized.jpg

I worked on the kit as well. Trekked over to the Fishery for a fresh piece of smoked white fish mmm

Not sure of plans today. Everyone have a fine day. Stay cool

Sunny, 76 heading to 85.  LOW humidity.  Very nice!  Not sure if we'll have Scotch Club this afternoon, the Laird might be on travel.
update:  There will be Scotch Club this afternoon.

In a couple minutes, I'll go downstairs, use the exercise machine, and maybe get back to the machine shop.

Good muggy morning from Wisconsin. Friday didn't go the way I was hoping. My trip to Hiawatha never happened. I couldn't get anyone to go so I ordered online. It stayed humid as predicted and the breeze didn't provide relief when sitting on the south facing deck or in the shaded front porch. I spent way too much time either in my cave reading or flutzing around accomplishing nothing in the train room.

Around 3 my wife asked if I going to help her prepare for dinner? Seems it slipped my mind (a senior afternoon not a moment maybe)that I was playing chef for dinner at the daughter's for 17 people. That definitely got me out of a strange funk yesterday as I had to prepare, greet the son and his girlfriend and take the prepped food over to the daughter's new place.

Turned out to be a great time. There was great organizational help from my partner in crime  (Terry) but lots of kitchen prep help from the granddaughter. The son manned the 2 fryers and the SIL's dad played the role of gofer extraordinaire. We worked well together. I do love to grill and the outdoor area at the daughter's new place was built to entertain. The son in law Wednesday was first to fire up outdoor grills to test them out for any issues (none). He, his dad and our son will man the grill and fryers the rest of the weekend. Everyone here is helping the kids to completely move into their new place. The balance of the furniture was either delivered from storage or delivered Wednesday or Thursday except for 1 couch and the SIL/Daughters new bedroom furniture.

Of the 17 last night 8 are locals so there was plenty of room for the rest between our place and the new one. The kids and grandkids moved out of our place Thursday so it was much quieter at our place last night.

Breakfast this morning for everyone was here at 7. The granddaughter stayed to help clean up and then we will venture over to help. Both the wife and daughter are super organized people that outline duties on an ever changing white board. The plan as I read it last night was to be done by noon today and start partying at 3. Except for the pool (hopefully ready by Labor Day) and some landscaping the house was ready to move in Wednesday.

I know most of my day will be playing gofer as I'm not lifting anything and there are plenty of
35 to 45 years olds for those tasks. I didn't think there was enough for everyone to do but this weekend was mainly a house warming and party time anyway!

Be well

Good morning folks,

TomACL, thanks for opening, the coffee, and the waffles.  Wishing you and the judge a fun time at the throttles.

Curt, sounds like a super busy day and weekend.  Safe travels.

Rick, sounds like a terrific hike yesterday.  I bet Star is tired today.  Safe travels to you, too.

Philip, hope it cools down up there. Just remember these temperatures in January next year.  ;)

Jerry, grandkids visiting sounds nice.  Enjoy the visit.

Larry, it's Saturday, so a down day sounds like just the thing to fuel up those modeling interests. I know, every day is Saturday...

Karl, nice photo, but I don't see any trout!  The Fishery will do, I guess.

Dave, The Machine Shop is looking terrific.  Please have a shot for me, SlĂ inte!

TomO, congrats on a fun day as Chef Tom.  Sounds like the day was a hoot!

How is the rest of the gang?

It's another overcast day, with no rain in the forecast, just warm air at 92F.

I finally spread pelletized lime on the yard.  I am a master procrastinator with yard work.  I'll head upstairs in a bit to apply a final flat coat on the scrap car details and ponder stirrups on the flat.  Yesterday I finished the Sculptamold, so the pressure is on the go buy paint.

Have fun,
mike

It's been a good time. The daughter and hubby throw great parties and I love to grill and the SIL built a dream outdoor set up. Plus I had great helpers

What's better? Getting to go home at night and relax and not worrying about entertaining.

That is what was the issue when we lived on Lake DuBay in North Central Wisconsin. Everyone came to party central during the Summer. There was no time to relax on a weekend.
