Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee and breakfast. Congrats on the pattern shop.  Get well soon wishes to your grandson.

Larry, I see a bunch of nasty stuff continues your way.  Looks like a lot of bench time, to me...

Philip, now that is amazing.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a bright morning but cold.  Sixties this afternoon. Bitter cold is headed our way. Still plugging away on the derrick.

Have fun,
mike
My current build is the Oil Derrick and miscellaneous rolling stock .

Rick

Good morning everyone.

Sunny and 76 here later n AZ.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Glad you're getting the scenery sorted out.
Hope your grandson is feeling better.

Larry, you've already had more than enough s#$@ for the season and it's only mid December.

Karl, interesting video mixing bag pipes and orchestra.

Philip, great job on the lock.

Mike, how's the fiddly stuff going?

Jerry, congratulations on moving forward.

Ron, sorry your wife wasn't able to go home.
Hope they figure what the problem is and she can be cured and get home soon.

ACLTom, are the Christmas decorations up outside?

TomO, that power plant you're working on looks amazing.

Karl, from the little I read, that coach has some real mental issues to deal with.

How's the rest of the crew?

Star and I did our 7.85 mile to Pilot Rock and back.
It was a beautiful trail.
Drove back towards the family afterward and I'll go there later this morning.

This is Rovey's Needle.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt. Stay warm and hope your grandson gets better very soon.

Pam is taking me out to dinner later. I'm in the mood for a good hamburger.

All the Christmas decorations are up and working. Lights only, no blow up stuff.

Not much else going on other than cleaning/straightening up the train shed.

Have a safe day everyone.

Mike hope to see pictures of the derrick soon.

Rick is that you way up on the top?  ;)
Be safe traveling today.

Tom very nice of Pam to treat you to a Hamburger.

Weather in South Jersey sunny/30.  Later on 36.
Not sure what is going on today.
Never made the bench yesterday but will try again today.

Looking around at night here it looks like the Griswolds live here in multiply houses.
They think the more lights the better it looks!!!!!

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Quiet, COLD, overcast this morning, temp might get to 20s after awhile.

Still battling ice from the slush storm Wednesday.  After PT yesterday I stepped out of my truck on a slight grade and with my foot being warm from the vehicle heater, it nicely melted the top layer of ice and I did a slow split to the ground with negative traction what so ever...... :o  little if any damage, pride and shock.  We used up a good share of the new bag of ice melt I bought Wed.  It broke up pretty well after a bit.

Ron, all good thoughts with your wife, it's not fun to be away from the "nest". Especially this time of the year.

Printed some small 3d pieces/parts and spent some time on the layout yesterday.  More today?  We'll see.

The mess in A2continues...who knew what and when may lead to a whole new athletic admin.  Speculation is wild.  The whole thing is sad from the collateral damage, guy's family and such.  More dirt on the place from the prior cheatin' sob's era.  :-\

Silly season is taking a back seat so far this year.  1:1 is hectic.  :o

Be well, stay dry, travel safe!

Good morning from Wisconsin where I'm not trying to be funny but it's a mild +7f degrees outside. There is no wind so it's feels like 7 and the sun is strong and bright. It felt "nice" this morning.

Badger VB on ESPN at 2 Eastern from Austin as they play Sanford. The Badgers are #9 nationally and Stanford #5. Should be a good one.

The grandson and parents leave for a tournament in Green Bay at 1 today. He plays at 6 tonight and 11 and 4 tomorrow. The 2 Sunday games to be determined.

Thanks Rick for the power plant comment. I am covering a 9x19x16" pillar sitting between the bridge I posted yesterday and a rather larger paper mill complex I am also building for the friend. We are covering the pillar with 3 walls. The 1st wall I have started on using modular wall pieces from an old group of buildings my friend had on a previous layout. The 2 brick wing walls are from the kits but the center portion will be scratch built. I can't move (or know how to)the thumbnail pictures into the body of this typing but just enlarge them. It's doable for me. The curtain wall of windows is easily put together it's the hidden framing to keep it from flexing that is the task. The turbine room behind the glass was Ai created to help me visualize what I wanted to build. I actually asked the correct questions to get the rendering right. Maybe I got lucky or I am starting 2 understand Ai better.

It's just a false front facade that at its deepest may reach 2" with the center bump out

Be well

I understand the "mild" comment. Often the 'bitter cold' but calm days are nicer feeling the 20s with wind and damp snotty mess.

Impressive work on the window treatment

Good afternoon everyone,

A little late for breakfast but I'll take a coffee.

Curt, hope the grandson gets better soon.

Larry, hope you make it to the bench today.

Mike, hope you make a lot of progress on the derrick today.

Rick, have fun with the family today.

ACLTom, enjoy dinner with Pam tonight.

Jerry, does that mean you need sunglasses at night now?  ;D

Karl, sounds like you are getting the 3d thing down pretty good.

TomO, that is quite the building flat.  Hard to believe it is only 2" deep.

Current temperature is -6c (21f) and partly cloudy.  Late checking in today as I had to pick up the Mrs from the hospital this morning, at least she is home on my birthday.  I'm really glad she is finally home.  I even managed a little time at the bench last night.  We shall see what today brings.

Have a great day everyone.

Philip the lock looks great. You seem to have a much better sense of CAD than I have. Without other folks designs online I'd be waylaid for ever.

TomO what AI are you using?

Free versions only. I have used Claude by DuckDuckGo for narratives only. ChatGpt and Gemini for imagining and narratives

This one was done using Google's Gemini. The reason I am sticking with Gemini is I'm not being limited to image rendering which is only 15 in 24 hours for the ChatGPT free versions.

I'm not a big fan and have only started before Thanksgiving using any Ai but I see the appeal. I also can see the issues coming to the work force in the future. Glad I'm retired

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 52F. Yesterday SIL showed up and we started to install the filter tower only to discover the outlet flange was busted off the cannister. :-X. This is the second time pool parts have arrived broken from 2 different sellers.

At the workbench I started putting details around the pattern shop group of buildings.

Today is up in the air until I find out if Tom is doing a SBG.

Nothing much else happening this way.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning everyone.

48 now and 77 and sunny later.

I see Curt is here and I'll assume he's getting the beverages and breakfast ready.

Ron, glad your wife is home and hopefully resting comfortably.

TomO, you're doing great with the AI photos.
I liked the snow scenes you did.

Karl, glad you didn't get hurt and that you're getting layout time.

Jerry, just put up a 'Ditto' sign pointing to your neighbors lights and you'll be all done.

ACLTom, how was your burger and please tell Pam I said hello.

Mike, your derrick looks amazing.

Curt, any more scenery work?

Sounds like everyone is healthy and feeling great.

Spent some time at at photo store during the day and then time with the kids when they came over later.
More of the same planned for today.

Pilot Rock with the lighthouse on it at Lake Havasu.

Good morning Curt and thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Too bad about the pool part and hope you get to Tom's today.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt. Good to hear you got some benchwork in.

Rick, I passed on your message to Pam and neither one of us got th4e burger we went for. She got a mini portion of nachos and I go a bowl of Brunswick Stew which was excellent.

The Judge is coming over and we will start a new video, Steam on the A&S RR.

Have a safe and happy day everyone.

Tom
