Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt. Good luck with all you have to do today.

Pam won't let me take any Christmas stuff down until 1/1/26. Its a cool 54 here this morning.

Happy Birthday to Star.

I'm taking Pam to get her hair done and then we'll grab some lunch with a senior we met at the Assisted Living/Nursing Home. Her name is Pat and she was a Nun from age 19 to 33. She left the order to have a family. Her husband died several years ago but they never had any children. Her husband has a son from a prior marriage. She hasn't seen him in 20+ years. She is a very sweet lady and very thankful to have a place to stay. She and Pam hit is off right away.

Hopefully, I'll have some bench time late this afternoon.

Have a safe, warm and happy Saturday.

Tom

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening, coffee, and breakfast. Congrats on the successful sleep. You've been a busy boy.

Larry, what a bummer with the car.  Good luck with the diagnosis.

How is the rest of the crew?

It's another overcast morning, but the forecast is for 72°F.  We're having lunch with our Daughter at my favorite Indian restaurant.  Sharon wants to start taking decorations down, so I may help some...  The oil derrick is progressing, with the forge shed completed.  The detail parts were coated with primer yesterday, so I hope to start painting today.

Have fun,
mike

We got about an inch of snow last night, just enough to freshen things up.  A neighbor's daughter is supposed to take the bus back to NYC, we'll see if she makes it.  Her little rescue dog and my 2 dogs get along well.

Last night I started an HOn30 boxcar kit.  I got it from Marsh Creek (Rich Brungard), he sold his train line to Mount Blue Model.  Ken Berio sent me replacement instructions, because the instructions got separated.  This kit fits well together, although I did make one assembly mistake (something that was missing from the instructions...)  It'll be a quick diversion from finishing the machine shop, and doing pick-up/put-away.

Good morning Crew. No cookies yet but 1 diet Dr Pepper bottle has hit the recycling business already. 38f degrees with fog starting to roll in.

The son and his g/f finally got out around 2:25pm yesterday. The latest plan was to drive straight home to Austin as the weather looked great. They should be near the Texas Motor Speedway near FW but if they hopefully stopped for a nap they could be anywhere in Oklahoma. I won't text in case they are sleeping or even grabbed a hotel.

There will be some train room and bench time today

Larryc. Never got the car loving, buying or using gene. I absolutely hate car shopping, best to you on the search

Be well

Good morning Curt, Larry, ACLTom, Mike, Dave, TomO and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt, glad to hear you finally got a good night sleep.

Larry, hope the car issue isn't a big one.

ACLTom, enjoy your lunch with your new friend.

Mike, enjoy lunch with your daughter, and have fun painting detail parts.

Dave, the HOn30 boxcar kit sounds like a nice distraction.

TomO, have fun at the bench today.

Current weather is -14c (6f) and the sun is shinning.  Spent most of yesterday watching the World Junior Hockey Tournament that started yesterday.  Canada won it's first game so I went to bed happy.  I also managed some time at the bench, the boxcars now have roofs.  Hope to get more bench time in today.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,
Larry, I wouldn't worry until you get the exact P coded from the OBD.

Good afternoon, all. Good luck, Larry, and I hope everyone's traveling family and friends have pleasant trips. Most of my morning went to clearing our driveways, but I got them clean enough they're now mostly black in full (low) sun.  No model railroading yet, but there's time if I get off the computer.

I guess the send button didn't work this morning. Woke up spacey, getting ready for the trip to OPS "quietly " and in the dark.

Ran a couple trains and kept busy. The last train, a local industrial turn was a mind bender. The yard crew had to push me uphill out of the yard. Said "someone" had hoarded 3 days worth of traffic. One of the yard crew kept coming over and checking to see how I was doing.  :o  I only left 3 off spots due to the session ending. It was a chore as the train was 3 times the length of the run around tracks.

Gloomy grey all day, warmer with 30-50 mph winds tomorrow, whoopee :P

Be safe

Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, lots of coffee, cereal, bagels, yogurt, OJ, and soda.

Slept really badly last night but not because of itching. It's very foggy outside. I was going to do a morning walk but didn't have the energy to get up. :-* Yesterday I built the crane mechanism and it actually fits properly on the crane framework. After that I did more detailing on the diorama. It looks like I only have 3-4 pages of instructions left to go.

Today after chores I'll continue to detail the diorama. There's only 2 major things left to do: adding the chain to the crane mechanism and adding the tempering oven stack and guide wires.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Sorry to hear about a bad night's sleep; nap time later?
Have fun with your diorama and enjoy the process.

What's going on in "your neck of the woods".

It's 13 with a high of 39 with rain later; hopefully the driveway doesn't turn into a sheet of ice. Daughters coming over later so I can drop my car off at the Garage; we'll see what he finds out this week. Maybe some bench time this am as the work continues on the back part of the roof.

Have a great day!! Be well and stay warm.

Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt. Hopefully, you'll get better sleep tonight.

Spent all day out and about with Pam. Our lunch was very interesting. Learned from our new friend that she left not just to have a family but, she said Priests were to "hands on" for her liking.

We have a couple of errands to run this morning. Not sure why we couldn't have done them yesterday but, whatever.

Bench time later for me.

Have a great day everyone and stay safe.

Good morning from Wisconsin. This fog will turn into 2-5" of the white stuff at noon and continue into the over night.

We had planned to see hockey in Milwaukee at 4 as the Badger men play in a tournament there. But the Milwaukee area is expecting heavy rains and with gale winds on the Lake of Michigan it's not worth it. The g/s, a friend and the SIL were going but nope, not happening.

That means bench time today. I was at the bench yesterday but really accomplished little. I kept getting interrupted by little things and finally said screw it. I did though inventory my styrene structural parts and they are severely lacking. My gift certificates will come in handy at the LHS. Hiawatha Hobbies and online at Scalehobbyist.com where I get most of my paints.

Enjoy the day

Good morning, Curt, Larry, Tom, TomO and later arrivals. I just came in from feeding the chickens and barn cat. Bright sun on the NH seacoast raising temperatures from single digits overnight to 20F now, above freezing this afternoon. My son and new family are home from the hospital, the teenager and his hosts are aboard their cruise. Ate at a nice Thai noodle shop in Somerville last night, then a party with a lot of people I hadn't seen in person in years.  Drive home was cold but without incident.

Forecasters say Monday's storm will start with freezing rain, followed by just rain. I don't have to go anywhere but the layout has several jobs cut out for me.
