Morning all,

Thanks for breakfast Curt, I hope you got better sleep last night.

Rick, I'm with you. I'm a believer but not in the "Organized Church". Nuff said on that.

Mike, I with you well and a clean sweep tomorrow.  ;D

The Hobby shop link TomO gave us has some great prices. I've saved the link in my bookmark page.

I'm actually watering the grass now even though the weather idjits are calling for rain - meaning it won't.

I have the day to my self for bench time.

Have a great day everyone and stay safe.

Good morning Curt, Larry, Dave, Rick, ACLTom and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt, you are at the fun part of the build now, adding detail parts.

Larry, hope it is only a minor issue with the car.

Dave have fun building the boxcar kit or making the corrugated metal, which ever one you chose.

Rick, hope you feel better soon.

ACLTom, enjoy your time at the bench.

It's a bit warmer here with the temperature at -1 (30f) with freezing rain.  Would be a great day to work from home if I was working today.  ;D  Spent time at the bench last night and made more progress on the boxcar kits.  Today I have to take the Mrs to another Dr's visit, then a stop at the LHS.  Should make it back to the bench this evening.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning folks,

Curt, thanks for opening and coffee.  I have to skip breakfast today. ;)

Larry, good luck with your car.

Dave, good luck shoveling the ice.

Rick, that's horrible.  Get well soon!

TomACL, it's nice to have a whole day at the bench.

Ron, I'm enjoying your boxcar build chronology. Persist!

Jerry, get well soon.  The flu is making the rounds.

How goes the rest of the gang?

It's an overcast day here, and a cold front is sweeping through.  No rain.

Work continues on the oil derrick details. Hope I don't get sidetracked.

Have fun,
mike

Well Good Morning;

The bride and I are back from our Caribbean cruise and settling back in. I have not been on the Forum for a week or so, shame on me. We had a great cruise and enjoyed it with friends making it even better.

Love the pictures and I too am planning time on the bench today in sunny Florida. Here is a belated Merry Christmas to all. Soon I will be announcing the winter challenge! Anyone with ideas on ways to improve it please message me direct.

Merry Christmas

If you do, we'll just do what they used to do to oil wells that dried up:  https://ptacts.uspto.gov/ptacts/public-informations/petitions/1555450/download-documents?artifactId=ukczys0UC5O5G0b9EcZP0YKOhLr2r2Vwzc7UpyGtypXjwu-iom1Epjk  We'll drop some nitroglycerine on you...   ;D

(A friend who writes historical mysteries set a story in the Pennsylvania Oil Country after the Civil War.  The plot revolved around control of a nitroglycerine plant.  She used my name for The Bad Guy. )

Second try.... >:(  the first post blew off the porch. :o

Yesterday's 60 is today's 20 temperature wise, the heavy rain is gone, replace with heavy snow and winds gusting near 60.

ACLTom...agreed :D

3d printing went ok yesterday, I printed up a dozen end of track bumpers using a file from Cults3d a library of thousands of all sorts of things predrawn.  Many are free others are moderately priced.  PICs from the iphone shortly.

More indoor stuff today, for damn sure... :o

Thanks for the interesting link, Dave.  I grew up in South Central Michigan during a "boom" in oil production in the mid 1960s.

It's funny the different movies over the years with an under current of Danger from Nitroglycerine...I like the Rooster Cogburn story with Duke and Katherine Hepburn

Good Morning from the snowy North,

The coffees ready along with the other morning beverages. Breakfast is hot cereal, your choice, with butter and maple syrup on the side.

What are you up to today?

It's 18 with a high of 22 and windy. We're under a winter storm warning from 7pm yesterday until 7am Wednesday and our County has issued a travel advisory so the car will stay parked in the driveway. I can see snowblowing multiple times today just to keep up with the stuff. Received maybe 1 foot overnight and it's still coming down. Maybe some bench time during warmups.

Have a great day!! Be well, stay warm, and easy in the snow if you're plagued with the crap.

We got more than an inch of rain yesterday, then the cold moved in.  The driveway is a sheet of ice, fortunately fairly rough due to tire tracks, etc.  I'm not sure the neighbors who plowed theirs have done any better, but their ice is thinner.  That's OK, I wasn't planning to go anywhere today.

In a bit, I'll get back to the HOn30 boxcar, that should be easy to finish...

Morning all from cool Central Fla,

Thanks for the hot breakfast Larry. Just what the day calls for.

Pam and I need to make a grocery run and pick up some new storage bins for the Christmas stuff. It all comes down Thursday.

I'll be happy to see this year end. I've lost three good friends and two male cousins to different types of cancer. Pam's mom passed from kidney failure.

My plan is to get to the bench later today.

Have a safe and warm day everyone.

Good morning everyone.

50 now, 68 and windy later.

Larry, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Careful playing in all that s#@!.

Dave, careful on the ice.

ACLTom, I hope next year is much better for Pam and you.

Karl, nice job on the bumpers.

Jim, welcome back and a very nice picture of both of you.

Mike, hope you didn't get sidetracked.

Jerry, how are you feeling?

Ron, hope your wife's doctor visit went well.
Anything bought at the LHS?

How's everyone else?

I never felt very sick and I'm getting real close to getting back to normal.
I'm going to check with the family to make sure no one else is still sick before I go back.

This was back in October in Oregon.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Larry although I'm not a fan of hot cereal.

In the 40's and windy here currently which is quite cold for us. It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow. Just finished breaking down cardboard boxes for pickup tomorrow. After I finish my OJ I'll head to the workbench to build coke boxes (not soda) as a detail for the diorama.

Mike good luck with your procedure today.

Rick I hope you feel normal soon.

Tom although all of ours are down they still have to go to the attic.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning Larry, Dave, ACLTom, Rick, Curt and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Larry, hopefully you won't get as much as the white stuff as predicted.

Dave, hope you get the  HOn30 boxcar finished today.  If you do be sure to post pictures, you can use my thread.

ACLTom, hopefully next year will be better.

Karl, the track bumpers look great.

Jim, that is a great picture of you and the Mrs.  Glad you had a great time on the cruise.

Rick, glad you are feeling better and yes the visit to the LHS was successful as I picked up the wheel sets and couplers I was looking for as well as a couple of MRH magazines.

Curt, have fun making the coke boxes.

Jerry, hope you are feeling better.

Mike, hope the procedure goes well.

Well the short temperature respite is over as the current temperature is -16c (4f) and cloudy.  After a busy day of running errands I did make it to the bench and made some more progress on the boxcar while watching Canada beat Norway at the World Juniors.

Have a great day everyone.

Sun for a moment and icy cold with wind. Better than yesterday.

They've quit using inches and going to feet in reporting on the snow in the areas around our place in the UP  :o  :o  Facebook post my wife saw a report of 3' to 4' drifts on the road from our private road out to US-2. I've not received any pics from the trail cam for 10 days.

Spent a couple hours  8) on the layout yesterday, putting in some cardboard strips to put plaster cloth and sculptamold (sp)  That should continue later in the day. At the moment it appears the Doll needs a ride to town. Jonesin' for the thrift store.  :P
Most of our snow blew off yesterday so the driveway is pretty clear. Just steps to clean.

That's it from here. Enjoy the day all.

KSINMI Dodging the drifts?  Should be exciting  8)

I'm back from a haircut.  Seems all the guys with more hair decided today was their day, so it was a long wait.  (Plus the barber shop is shorthanded.)   I'll head back down for more time on the car kit in a bit.  I had a quick set-back when I broke one side, but it was an easy repair.
