Good Morning All,

Today for breakfast is coffee, cereal, bagels, muffins, OJ, and soda.

Started out the day with a walk at 62F and low humidity. This weekend it's supposed to get down in the 50's. :o

Yesterday my day at the workbench fell through. I hosed off the pool deck then MOH "volunteered" me to chauffeur her around. I ended up with about 45 minutes modeling.

Today is floor day then the workbench.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning Gents,

Curt thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Often times real life has a habit of infringing on our modeling time. Hope you make it to the bench today.

What's your plans for the day.

It's a clear 29 with a high of 50 in New York. Have a Chiropractor's apt this am so I'll have to scrape my car windows for the 3rd morning in a row; ugh. Ground up leaves again yesterday; they're never ending. Maybe some bench time later. Oh ya I forgot my lathe showed up Saturday from SW; now I have to figure out how it goes together since I can't find any instructions on Brett's site.

Have a great day!! Be well and keep warm.

Good morning everyone.

Tonopah, NV weather: 42 now and 68 and sunny later.

Curt, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
45 minutes is better than none.

Larry, I'm surprised instructions didn't come with the kit.
I'd give Brett a call.

Jerry, by the time you posted last night I was fast asleep.

Ron, I had no idea those backdrops would be that expensive.
Don't blame you for not wanting to pay that much.

Dave, did you remember what you were working on?  ;D

Karl, anything to add today?  ;D

TomO, I was never a big fan of Springsteen although he does have a few good songs and has the reputation of being very good in concert.
I never went to one of his shows.

Philip, did you had a good en?

ACLTom, hope you bowled well and safe travels.

How's everyone else?

Made it to Tonopah.
Went to a brewery here for lunch.
Had a pepperoni pizza, a porter and a stout.
There's a mining museum here that I'll visit this morning then drive a bit closer to Great Basin NP.

Tamarack Lake at Sierra Buttes, CA.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning Curt, Larry, Rick and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Curt, hopefully you won't get derailed again today and you make it to the bench.

Larry, hope the chiropractor does wonders for you.

Rick, enjoy the museum.

Another sunny day but it's on the cool side with the current temperature of 4c (39f).  No modeling last night, probably won't get there till the weekend but I do need to check my paint supply.

Have a great day everyone.

Cloudy and seasonable temps in SE NH.  Trick-or-treat was scheduled here for tomorrow, but because of the much needed rain, the city pushed it back to Friday.  (I'm not sure why they didn't do Friday in the first place, but OK....)

Yesterday, I hooked up the DCC-EX unit to the track on my testbed, and actually ran a diesel and then a steamer around the loop, both on DCC.  The Athearn 2-6-0 did make it around the 15" track, but it stuttered a bit.  The SW1500 was fine on that tight radius.  Tomorrow I'll probably try running a DC loco, the big deal about DCC-EX is that it can drive both DC and DCC from the same throttle.

Good morning from Wisconsin. We will hit 57 per the guessers. It'd be a great Autumn day if the wind wasn't in the teens and gusting into the 20's.

The movie yesterday was good, a bit slow and a tough story as it's about Springsteen coming to his realization that he needs help with his unhappiness (depression)even though he's got the world by the balls. While never a Bruce Springsteen fan and with mentioning I couldn't ID him with any of his songs yesterday though In my mind I was singing along.

Would I recommend it. A tough story unfolds about the childhood abuse by his dad that lead to all his sorrows basically recorded in a song called Nebraska. I enjoyed the movie so yes go see it, but see it on your movie theaters Senior discount day. SPRINGSTEEN: Deliver me from Nowhere

Time at the friends layout build last night was good

Enjoynthe day

Good morning folks,

I don't know if the reaction was from the flu shot or just a simple cold, but I've been down for the count for several days.  I feel a little better today, so just resting.

I did manage to drill 160 holes and plant the NBWs in the oil derrick before I got sick.  I'll take photos when I feel like the trek upstairs.

Have fun,
mike

Morning everyone

Curt thanks for the coffee & brekfast.
Don't you just hate when HDO lists get in the way!!

Nice picture Rick.
I was late in posting last night after watching the game.

Ron yes make sure you have all the colors before starting.

Morning Dave are you ready to run a train on the layout???

TomO thanks for the review of the movie.

Mike glad your feeling a little better.
You sure you don't have fatigue from the 160 holes?  ;D

Weather in South Jersey is cloudy/54.  Later on 54 with showers.
I did get to the bench for a couple of hours yesterday.
Same today I hope.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Running a train -on the layout- is unlikely in the near future.  I'd have to (a) clean it off, (b) clean the track, (c) either install more switch machines or at least pin the throw bars, but mostly (d) I want to have enough scenery in place to prevent the train from plunging to the ground if it derails.  Yes, that is lack of confidence in my trackwork.  (A couple years ago, James Van Bokkelen forced me to run a loco around the layout, just to prove it could be done. But since then I installed the crossing and then did the electronics to switch that while moving the ball signal.  I'd have to reinstall that, or hard-wire the crossing, to recreate that accomplishment.)

Where is the post from Ron on backdrops?
I was thinking of them for my 24' diorama.

Is this what you're looking for?

No modeling last night but for the fun of it I did some research on photo backdrops.  Pricing I found were between $150 to $250US ($210 to $350CDN), I think for the price I'm going to paint mine.

Marty, I would think with your photography skills you could use one of your own photos.
