Would love to see this layout in person someday.  Just looking at the great pics posted here, one can look at the details and still not see all of them.  Thanks for posting all the photos here, quite an album for all of us to look at and admire.

Thanks for stopping by the thread - as of last night I have posted about 640 of my F&SM pictures here, so we are getting close to 25% of the pictures I plan on posting.  I'm planning to make another trip to the F&SM to photograph the areas where I know I missed a number of structures - and to get better photographs of the structures that I didn't get good closeup shots of.  When I started this project I figured it would take a few years and it looks like it will.  I try to post a few pictures each week.  I know that I'm learning every time I study these photographs and I hope this thread will help others to raise the bar on their modeling.

Holy Cow John, you're a photo taking mad man.  And only 25% posted!  A modelers dream to see the pictures of this legendary layout.  Really appreciate the time and effort you've shown to display your pictures for those of us that can't get there in person.  Thank you for all of the inspiring pictures.  Just as a side note, what camera are you using?  The pictures are great; clear, focused and great depth of field.

Thanks - I'm not a photographer - I just like to take pictures and find it very useful in my modeling.  My SLR camera is a Cannon 50D - most of the pictures were taken with it.  My iPhone takes great photos and is becoming my camera of choice.  The new technology makes a big difference - especially with modeling photographs where depth of field is so important.  The exposure time with the SLR to get good depth of field is a big issue - I was taking the pictures on this thread with a tripod and I could tell every time a truck went by or someone walked close to the tripod.

John , do you have somewhere where all the photo's can be downloaded with a few clicks?
I love photo's, don't we all.

No - I don't have and I committed to George that I would post them here when he agreed to let us take pictures as part of the EXPO layout tour.  I know it's taking  a lot of time but I think it's better that way - we can't have to much of a good thing all at once.  ;)

Sorry , I meant the ones that you have already posted here, I wondered if there was an easier way of copying them to my PC other then saving them one by one.

Sorry, I miss understood.  I add all of the pictures to the Gallery before I post them to the thread - you may be able to copy them from there easier.

Thank you again for posting the pictures, John. Do you know if tenement buildings are scratchbuilt or are from a kit?

Thanks for the feed back, John.  I just bought a NIKON D3100 and still learning how to use it properly instead of relying on the "AUTO" function.

I know that there was a kit for similar buildings but it was not FSM - but I will ask George the next time I talk to him.

Mark,

Now I see. They look similar but it doesn't look like George used NESM kit(s) though. NESM structures are 3 window wide and George's are 5.

Vilius - North Eastern Scale Models did a model like this.

Cheers, Mark.

Thanks - I could not remember who did the kit.  I will ask George if he used the kit or if it came after his structures on the layout.

The NESM tenement kit is based on the ones from Earl Smallshaws layout.
