Good morning everyone.

Sunny and 75 here in south east SD today.

Coffee, sodas and OJ are ready.
Assorted muffins, danish and bagels for breakfast today.

Sorry, I need to be brief today Bec cause I have to leave soon to go to the DMV.
Got there around 8:30 yesterday and they were already booked with walk ins for the day.
First available day to schedule an appointment is mid April.
Doors open at 7:30 and I want to be there before that.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning folks,

Rick, thank you for opening, coffee, and breakfast.  Good luck at the DMV. sounds nerve racking.

TomACL, wow, what a cool car. Congrats on the EKG results.

Ron, congrats on the model storage system build. How many scales do you model?

Jerry, hope you made it to the bench.  I didn't.

TomO, congrats on the brass site access.

Philip, what's on your printer?

Larry, nice job on the shed.

Curt, how is the shipyard build progressing?

How is the rest of the crew?

It's a rainy day in Georgia with the temperature topping 72°F.  My head is full of Z3 tasks, so I doubt I'll make it upstairs today.  Wouldn't you know I bought a convertible and rain is forecast every day this week.

Have fun,
mike

Good morning, Rick, Mike and later arrivals. The NH seacoast is sunny and pleasantly cool, with 79F forecast later.  For the convenience of a very busy engineer/young mother, my Planning Board chair scheduled two initial subdivision hearings last night. I didn't get dinner till 9:30 PM...  I will talk to both of them about this; though there may not be an alternative.

Back to Seashore and its double slip switch today. Once we get the track gauge of the busiest route fixed, we hope to start the spiking/ballasting/tamping process.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Good luck at the DMV. No appointment until April :o  :o  :o  :o Luckily we can do most stuff online.

Started out the day with a walk at 78F and very humid. I finished it but it felt like I walked 10 miles and I did sleep well.

Yesterday I finished detailing the wood planks and colored four scribed wooden walls. The main walls actually have 3 layers of material on them.

Today after chores I'll continue with the kit. MOH is on her way to SC, will spend the night at BFF's house then drive home tomorrow.

Mike I wish it would rain here.

James Good luck with the slip switch.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast. Good luck at the DMV; sounds like they're all the same no matter what part of the country you live in.

Mike have fun with the Z3 tasks and hope the rain holds off at least for awhile. Thanks for the shed compliment.

James sound like a busy day; try to get dinner before 9pm today.

Curt enjoy your time working on the kit; take it one step at a time.

What's the rest of you up to?

It's currently a sunny 60 with a high of 76 and low humidity; my kind of weather. A few errands to run shortly then maybe some more bench time this morning. May have to handle a couple of 1:1's outside this afternoon.

Have a great and safe day!!! Be well.

8) Sunny this morning but morphing into clouds and rain later in the day.  Moderate temps should be pleasant until it rains.  We don't need more, right now, but up to 3" forecast in the next 3-4 days.

Nice cars folks!

Slight progress on the layout yesterday, a little ground cover. Re-strung the weed wacker, twice, re-read the directions after the first attempt launched a rats nest all over... >:(

LOTS of activity at the bird feeders this morning. Including 3 kinds of wood peckers and a little SOB with a bushy tail.

That's brutal, Rick to have such poor availability of Motor Vehicle service.  Here in MI it went to hell during the China Flu but accelerated online services were a result.  Somewhat smoother using online.  The increased fees are maddening, tho.  $250/yr for EACH vehicle plus an additional $20 for use of state parks.

Have a good day, all.

Karl that fee is ridiculous. We pay around $80 a year in FL, and I think that is ridiculous.

Morning all. Thanks for the coffee Rick.

Everything about the DMV is ridiculous. I had my fill of those fools last month. :-X

A cool start again today! Gena is weeding this am.

My cat Indy has been limping around for a couple days. He seems better today. He's 9 and needs to slow down. The Alpha probably fell again. He's purring so I'll monitor him another day. His shots are due.

Mike, Not a thing sir. Last was the barrels and heads 3dp. Windows on deck...maybe.

Have a great day gang!

Jerry

Morning everyone

Rick thanks for the coffee & breakfast.
Good luck at DVM.

Mike good luck with the car.

James good luck with the repair of the slip witch.

Curt good luck getting to the bench after chores.

Larry good luck at the bench today.

Karl we have one of those SOB who ,makes a mess at the feeder every morning!!

PHilp how come you're not weeding??  Oh I forgot your building a blacksmiths shop!!  ;D

Weather in South Jersey is sunny/67.  Later on 76.
Almost a perfect day.
A few errands today.
Then out to dinner with friends.
Then maybe some bench time in between.
I did manage an hour there yesterday.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Quote from: PRR Modeler on June 15, 2026, 10:09:38 AMTomO, Bob Butts built the Red Light District for Tom and it looks fantastic. Definitely an eye catcher. Not sure if he did a build thread or not.

Thanks I will search

Edit: just found it. 17 pages will read it now. thanks for the  heads up. It's from 2016

Another edit

Wow just finished reading  Bob Butts build. Super impressive work and some great tutorials in there. If I can get it to look 1/2 as great as his build I will be happy. I gave it a 6 month time line to build but I will have to re-think that as not enough.

Thank you for pointing me to the thread

LOL hardly. She has summoned  me 3 times already this am.

Good morning. The high today is scheduled as 69! No rain unless the 24% chance at 3pm hits. Tomorrow though the guessers on the TV are saying biblical things so it could get dicey.

Today. I'm going to spend 10am to 12:30 in the shop. Come home, shower and head to the Tuesday movies. We are seeing Pressure.

SYNOPSIS

In the tense 72 hours before D-Day, and with the fate of the free world hanging in the balance, PRESSURE follows General Dwight D. Eisenhower and Captain James Stagg as they face an impossible choice—launch the largest and most dangerous seaborne invasion in history or risk losing the war altogether

I am not thrilled about being 3+ miles from my workbench. Last night after dinner I had the urge to do anything but sit in the house reading. I know it's temporary but it is what's happening now. I know I'm a spoiled old coot!

Cars, I'm not a car guy! I didn't inherit the gene from my dad (Buick and then Chevy dealer). The brother and sister did and Terry somewhat. Her last car was a 2024 Hurus she had 2 years. Pulled over too many times without getting a ticket from the local departments, that was tiresome. Then getting sick for 8 months and not driving she sold it. Asked the dealer and they gave her a stupid offer she took immediately. She loves the 2 seat models but anything small and sporty will do. The Hurus is a SUV that she shocked me by even wanting one. My sister and Terry were at my brothers in Arizona in 2023 when he gave our daughter his Hurus. Terry and my sister drove it home to the daughter in Wisconsin and Terry loved it. So she found one for herself. Me, I am more than happy in my 2024 VW Jetta. My last 4 cars have been VW. Terry has been looking again as she has been feeling better. Her choice as I don't care

Enjoy the day

Yeah, I'm not a car guy, either....  To me, it's just a means to take me and stuff to where I need to go (that's why I have a cheap pick-up.)  One thing I do not understand, though are 4-do pick-ups.  If you want to haul people, buy a wagon/van/or even SUV.  Why compromise the bed length on the pickup?

I'm feeling S-10 sporty. Does that count?
