Good morning, all, thanks for the breakfast, Larry. My hens and barn cat are taken care of, got a few peaches from my young trees. Next will be breakfast and off to Seashore.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Larry.

We're at MOH's BFF house today in lower SC before we head home tomorrow. From here it's about a 6 hour drive. We got here around 4 pm yesterday. Where would driving on the interstate in a downpour and stop and go traffic be but in SC. I think it's mandatory.

Other than the last 3 hours of driving yesterday it's been very nice with well moving traffic.

We did 2 excursions on the Cass NG RR. I had a really good time. The locos are amazing. It almost makes me want to do NG...almost.

Daughter's free time is over. She has 18 2nd graders in her classroom this school year that starts today.

TomO I didn't realize there is flooding in your area, but glad you and Terri are safe.

Mike have fun with your daughter.

Rick great video.

I won't be in tomorrow but I'll see you Wednesday.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Quote from: deemery on August 10, 2025, 10:55:09 AMOne of the dogs woke me up about 6:15, and said "I have to go out NOW."  So I took them both down, they did their business, and we all went back to bed.  It was probably 60 or so.  When we officially got back up at 9:00 (it's great to be able to go back to sleep!), the temp was already 75, en route to 88 today.  Sunny, still relatively low humidity.  This week looks like typical August with hot and humid.

Certainly it's true, I strongly prefer dogs over people.  I got into a bit of a heated discussion over on MRH forums, over what I assert is NMRA's -continued- attitude of "only the leadership knows what's good for you."  That's OK, but my association with NMRA will end after my 2nd clinic in Concord next month.  (Which reminds me, I need to start assembling those slides.)  I should get down to the train room and work on the lighting for the machine shop.

I went over and read the thread at MRH. Wow! People don't get it that no matter what people think about the current NMRA it is still embedded in some "old boy" thinking.  I left the NMRA in 1976 due to a few disagreement with the local and they said I couldn't switch districts among other things. But basically I was 24 years old at the time and I was told I was too young to know anything yet just go along. When I thought about re-joining when we moved to So Central Wisconsin at retirement in 2014 the locals didn't respond to my questions. Since then I'm actually friends with many active members in the area but I'll save my yearly dues and buy a piece of rolling stock

Warm sun and with humids hanging on today. Headed to Keeney's Nashville Road for ops today.

Not currently an NMRA member but hold little of the virulent negativity some do. Maybe the group vs ME mind set gets going. We have a good group of folks around South Michigan who are members but nonmembers are welcome. The convention just ended was a well received event I've heard. Lots of or guys were in leadership roles for that.   The biggest obstacle for future event is the geometric increases of cost of facilities and services need no matter what events you have.

I decided to take my own advise, given to others, and ordered a preprogrammed decoder for the SDR40F and skip the programming hassle. I recall the last adventure in that was frustrating. Still have to install it and a speaker or two.

Enuf for now. Crew van just beeped.

Be well all. Stay safe

Good morning everyone.

My Washington weather: Sunny with a high of 82.

Larry, thanks for the coffee and breakfast.
Good news about Mr.B.

Terry, nice to see you here.

Curt, sounds like you are having a good time on your trip.
Come on over to the dark side.  ;D
You'll like it.

James, have fun at the shore.

Mike, enjoy your brunch and working on the lodge.

TomO, glad you didn't have any issues with flooding.

Jerry, any second wall framing?

Dave, I always move fast is Star wants to go out.
Fortunately that doesn't happen often.

Ron, engine tracks done?

Karl, did you get the sound file loaded to the engine?

ACLTom, hope you recovered well from the yard work and were able to do some modeling.

Philip, what's new?

Greg, hope you have a good work week.

Star and I did 8.4 miles and 1,631' of EG yesterday on the Shedroof Mountain Trail.
Didn't see a single person on the trail and that's exactly how I like it.
Today will be a rest day.
But I do have some cleaning and reorganizing to do in the van.

The Cass railroad is standard gauge not narrow gauge. This if I interrupted your statement correctly.

Good morning Larry, TomO, Mike, James, Curt, Terry, Karl, Rick, Philip, Bernd, Jerry and the rest of the crew that drops on later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Larry, hope the chores go well and you make it to the bench.

TomO, sounds like the weathering gig is still a growing concern.

Mike, enjoy brunch with your daughter.

James, enjoy your day.

Curt, sound like you had a great time at Cass.

Terry, nice hearing from you.

Karl, I understand how frustrating programing the decoders can be.

Rick, Will have to set aside some time to view your video.  Enjoy your rest day.

Philip, Coffee drinking should have it's own AP certificate.  ;D

Bernd, Have a great day.

Jerry, Beach or Bench day today?  ;D

Currently 25c (77f) and humid today.

I am a NMRA member only because I live where there is a very active division here.

Wife decided that the grandson needed a bigger bureau so it was off to Ikea to get one and then spent the afternoon with the grandson assembling it.  I did manage to get to the bench last night and spiked down the last turnout, added the ground throw and spiked one of the siding down.  Only one siding left to do.

Have a great day everyone.

Afternoon all,

Very late checking in today. We took the RX350 in for service at 7AM and then went to breakfast after that.

I've been working on the layout since noon. I decided to move the program track to a dedicated track nearer the command station.

Hope everyone is having a great day.
