Dave the 5'th, hope your is feeling better today.

I hope everyone else that hasn't been feeling well is doing better today.

Rained most of the day so not much happened here.
I did work on a video for a hike I did in September at Mount Rainer NP but haven't uploaded it yet.
Star and I will do a nice hike today and hopefully we won't get rained on.

Another picture from my campsite two days ago.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Rick. Enjoy your hike with Star today.

Slept in a little later than normal due to reflux issues overnight. I added the cupola walls to the Foundry where the sand pit will be and started on the Foundry work shop yesterday.

Today after floors I'll put the work shop walls together. Tomorrow, son and I will attempt to make it to the movies which was canceled last week.

Tom I hope you are feeling better.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning Gents,

Rick thanks for the coffee and breakfast.Hope the rain holds off so you and Star can get that hike in.

Curt enjoy your build; it's looking real good so far.

What's the rest of you up to.

It's a very frosty 25 with a high of 45 in New York...brr. Looks like the sun might shine today and get rid of the "white grass." Not much planned for today and still waiting on parts for the Shop. That's all I got.

Have a great day!! Be well and keep warm.

8) Sun and cold, 270 here in Southern Mid Central lower Michigan.  I MAY go to the upper 30s today.

A wintry mix visited us yesterday.  I consulted with the Deere Service Mgr about my issues and will be checking fuses today after I get back from PT. I ordered a mixed supply from Amazon and they should be out on the porch, I didn't look yet.  Less than $10, more items than the $35 set from O'Reilly  Auto parts.

I did some 3d printing yesterday, second try on an HO scale building I d/l'd from one of the model image "warehouses".  I used lighter supports and it printed the window mullions better.

Time to move along.  Be well all!

Of course it is!   The obvious response would be "Rock On!"

Sunny and chilly in SE NH.  It's our monthly lunch group meeting today, so I won't get much work done in the train room.  Tomorrow we're off to see an exhibit in Boston, so I'll get back to the train room Friday.

Jim Donovan

Good Morning;

Well it is that time of year, the house is already open and the temp is up around 68. Coffee in hand, the pups on the chair next to me and life is good.

I'm deep into CAD designing and 3D printing of parts for the bridge I am working on. I've spent about a week figuring out model dimensions that are as close to original and that the printer can handle. I can print things down to .2mm (.00787 of an inch) if very careful, .2mm in HO scale equals .68 of an inch. However, it is a model and you want to see the detail therefore some of the parts are off original size so they appear on the model, others have to be adjusted so the finished product is structurally sound. I've made a lot of test samples and dozens of corrections to the drawings but it looks like I have about figured everything out I need for now so should be seeing some results later this week.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning Rick, Curt, Larry, Karl, Dave, Jim and the rest of the crew that drops in later.

Thanks for the coffee and breakfast Rick, enjoy your hike with Star today.

Curt,  have fun with the build.

Larry, Hope your parts come today.

Karl, sounds like your making great progress with the 3d printing.

Dave, have fun with the lunch group.

Jim, sounds like the 3d cad design for the bridge is going well.

Weather today is the same as it's been for the past week, overcast and cold with the current temperature being -3c (26f).  I think I'm going to do an internet search on "sun" to see what it looks like.

Got a call from Canada Post last night saying my parcel (an N scale RDC that I ordered almost 2 years ago  :o ) was missing the apt number on my address.  That took me aback as I don't live in an apartment.  I gave them my current address when I found out that the address on the parcel was for the apartment I rented in Saskatoon when I worked there in 2020.  I'm guessing I need to update my address on the website where I bought the engine from.

Had a frustrating time at the bench last night as I broke 3 out of the 4 piston arms for the brake cylinders, I swear, 2 of them broke just looking at them.  I'm not sure if I'll but replacements for them, 3d print them, although I think 3d printing them would be difficult as they are very thin and would be very fragile or scratch-build new ones.

Have a great day everyone.

Curt how you doing on that build?

Larry don't worry the parts our in good hands!!

Karl how's your printing going?

Morning Dave.

Jim looking forward to your progress on the bridge.

Ron I'm sure you will fix that problem with your talent.

Weather in South Jersey misty/44.
Were in today.
So maybe I will get something done at the bench.

Everyone have a great day!!  :)

Once sunny 8)  is now hazy bright here in MI. 410 with some wind, seems a bit chilly.

Currently I am working on a 3d project.  I'm not sure on the size of those cylinders, Ron, but my 3d printer had done window mullions that mic out at 0.5 mm.  They seem to rival Tichy's.  They are delicate, as the first try at the bldg the supports were on the mullions in places and didn't survive well being removed.  I reset the supports to avoid them and it printed well.  Maybe pix sometime.  I hadto modify this post from my iphone where my images are more accessible.

Overall of the two tries, front is the keeper, rear shows damage on windows (0.5mm)
This is HO scale

The biulding a made from free image files from one of the numerous image libraries available for folks in the 3d world.

Little else new.  Going out shortly to try to see if fuses might help me with the Deere.  ::)

Be well all.
